RESCUING DOGS LEFT
LONLEY BY WAR,
WITH OUR LOVE
Hello, I'm Roy, founder of the Dog Sanctuary in Moshav Tidhar. I served in the army in the combat canine unit 'Oketz,' alongside my friends, fighting on all fours, and my connection with dogs runs long and deep.
For the past ten years, we have been hosting, training, and caring for numerous dogs, in our peaceful setting, just a ten-minute drive from Kibbutz Be'eri! And then, war broke out.

For the past ten years, we have been hosting, training, and caring for numerous dogs, in our peaceful setting, just a ten-minute drive from Kibbutz Be'eri! And then, war broke out.
Dogs orphaned, abandoned, and left astray
The war left hundreds of lone, orphaned, and fleeing dogs in attacked villages – threatened, injured, and disoriented. Families from the surrounding area who were evacuated to hotels were unable to take the dogs with them. Reservist soldiers called up in haste, left the dogs, and entered Gaza in a rush. Army personnel, pilots, police officers… many had to leave their dogs here and go.
Rescuing the families’ and soldiers' dogs
Over 100 dogs are housed here every day and night, receiving care, food, medication, cleaning, and rehabilitation for their wounded souls. Dogs who lost their families, some of them injured, burned, and mentally scarred.
We host the dogs of the surrounding area and security forces voluntarily – we do not charge. We are stretched to the limit; our staff has been recruited to the army, and the waiting lists are growing longer. We have purchased dozens of food sacks, and we need to build more facilities, and kennels, and prepare for winter. Your help is needed.
